Elevate Holiday Drinks with This Easy Garnish
An easy way to make your drinks look as good as they taste.
Holiday cocktails deserve more than a plain lime wedge. These festive garnishes are the perfect finishing touch for your seasonal sips, whether it’s a Champagne cocktail, a holiday mule, or a cozy mulled wine.
With just a few ingredients and the right tools, you can make a whole batch of these vibrant little skewers to dress up your party drinks. They add aroma, color, and just a hint of fresh flavor.
What You’ll Need:
- Fresh rosemary sprigs
- Fresh cranberries
- 1 lemon
- Cocktail picks or small skewers
- Shun Classic Asian Multi-Prep Knife
- Shun Herb Shears
Step 1: Slice the Lemon
Using the Shun Classic Asian Multi-Prep Knife, cut the lemon in half lengthwise. Lay the halves flat-side down, then slice into thin half-moon pieces. You'll need one slice per cocktail.
Step 2: Strip the Rosemary
Grab your Shun Herb Shears, which feature a handy built-in blade notch for stripping herbs. Thread each rosemary sprig through the notch and pull. It’ll remove the needles cleanly, leaving a 2-inch tip at the top and a few inches of bare stem at the base.
You can trim the bottom stem if needed to make threading easier.
Step 3: Build Your Garnish
Thread a fresh cranberry onto the rosemary stem. Follow with a lemon slice (pierce near one end), then another cranberry. The cranberries help hold the lemon slice upright and add a beautiful pop of color.
Step 4: Repeat and Serve
Make as many as you need...and maybe a few extra! These look great perched on the edge of a coupe or tucked into a mug of mulled wine. The rosemary infuses just a whisper of piney aroma, while the lemon adds bright citrusy balance.
Why It Works
These garnishes are all about flavor, fragrance, and visual joy. They’re easy to prep, and they elevate your presentation in seconds. Whether you're mixing up cocktails for a holiday party or just treating yourself to something seasonal, this is a simple upgrade worth making.
And we'll say cheers to that!
